Wellness Tip: Sleep Alert

I recently read that "new research is showing that insufficient sleep of 6 hours or less may contribute to the development of insulin resistance and reduced glucose tolerance- which in turn may increase the long-term risk of developing diabetes." (November 2009 Natural Awakenings). Here are some tips that will help you get some healthy sleep:
1. Do not drink beverages with caffeine in the evening. Try a herbal tea such as chamomile instead.
2. Don't eat after 8:00pm. This is not only better for your body weight but also will prevent you from sleepless nights feeling bloated or experiencing heart burn.

3. Take a warm bath using soothing bubble bath in a fragrance that relaxes you. Soak for 15 minutes and mentally relax. AVON offers many scents that are great for sensitive skin and won't leave a ring in your bath tub!

What do you do to ensure a good night's sleep?
